capturing charlene and andy’s wedding day at sherwood country club was one of the greatest honors i could ever ask for. not only have i known charlene for over 15 years, but she is also one of my dear friends. this was the best wedding i could have ever asked to close out our 2009 season. we started with getting ready shots at the westlake village inn and took some bridal and bridal party photos around the grounds. i love the westlake village inn’s flower arches and swirly gates. we then headed to sherwood for the ceremony and reception. charlene and andy did not see each other before their ceremony, so when charlene walked down the aisle, the look on andy’s face melted the hearts of all the guests! they are such an amazing couple and have so much love for each other and all of their family and friends. i am so lucky to know these two wonderful people and wish them a lifetime of love and happiness! love you guys :)

p.s. charlene had a bridesman, danny (who was our neighbor our first year of college, charlene and i were roomies) and i love him to bits, so i featured a lot of photos of him from before the ceremony.

a few weeks ago we got a call from the editor at wedding vow asking if we had any ventura county wedding images that we wanted to submit for their next edition. we had just shot jennifer and rick’s beautiful wedding at hartley botanica so i quickly gathered a bunch of my favorites together and submitted a whole folder! i received a call the next day saying they were going to use jennifer and rick’s wedding for the real wedding in the summer 2009 edition! i was ecstatic to say the least. being published, even in a small magazine is such an honor. i was so excited to get the magazine and see our 2 page spread right in the middle :). we also have a small image featured in the “I Do” section of one of our favorite couples andrea and david who were married at spanish hills country club. wedding vow magazines are available at all ventura county bridal shows in the next upcoming months as well as most ventura venues so make sure to grab a copy, it’s a wonderful resource for ventura brides!

i walked outside the morning of january 24th and the rain dropped down, the sky was dark and i asked for it to please go away. as we made our way up the hill to ashley and ryan’s wedding, the sky became a little more blue and the raindrops came down a little more slowly. we found a location to take family photos in a corridor with lots of light shining through but we still hoped the rain would stop. just as we were ready to take group photos, the sun poked out through the clouds, gave us some amazing light and we stepped outside quickly enough to get beautiful shots of ashley and her girls, ryan and his guys and of course the both of them in one of the coolest cars i have ever seen! ashley and ryan had a beautiful wedding at st. maximilian kolbe catholic church, just up the street from our studio in westlake village. my parents lived a few blocks away and i remember when there used to just be a grass hill in it’s place. when they flattened that hill, my friends and i used to play in the dirt. st. max has been a great addition to the neighborhood, it’s an absolutely stunning church and we were very excited to shoot there. the rest of the day went very smoothly. the ceremony was beautiful, the sunlight poured into the church and we watched as ashley and ryan gave each other little smiles, everyone laughed and mingled during cocktail hour and dj tom chandler had the room up and dancing during the reception. as we left i said thank you to the rain for going away, at least for a while ;).
