jennifer and brad were referred to us by former clients kimberly and jay who are awesome, so we knew that any friends of theirs just had to be as amazing! and we were right! jennifer and brad were in need of a day after session, which is one of my favorite sessions to shoot! day after sessions have the vibe of an engagement session with the wardrobe of a wedding, so what could be better?! :). they were about to leave southern california and wanted a location that expressed quintessential los angeles. i suggested places like melrose, venice, santa monica pier… and melrose won! i love shooting on melrose because it has some of the best backdrops ever. the street is just gritty enough for attitude, but it still maintains that cool, los angeles feel!

when i spotted jennifer getting out of the car, i knew this shoot would be fantastic in every way. she had on the most amazing gown paired with a beautiful birdcage veil, red hollywood lips, and turquoise shoes (her sassy something blue). brad looked handsome, edgy, and cool all rolled into one. and let’s not forget their adorable dog who joined us toward the end of the session. i’m a dog lover myself, so i believe that man’s best friend also makes man’s best photos!

kimberly and jay, thank you for sending your amazing, gorgeous, cool friends to us! jennifer and brad, thank you for giving us the opportunity to capture these photos for you. we had the most wonderful time with you and promise to visit ya’ll ;) in texas soon!

erin has got to be one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet, she was also one of the most organized brides! you might remember erin from her and adam’s engagement session, also in downtown la. everything was in order, the timeline and contact list i received before the wedding was just a glimpse at how well erin and adam’s wedding was going to be run. erin had an amazing wedding dress with beautiful lace straps and the cutest birdcage veil. i must have taken 1000 images once erin was ready, she just looked so adorable! erin and adam were married at the church on the usc campus followed by a reception at the amazing city club (i had to sit down in the elevator traveling all the way up to the 54th floor because i am a wuss!) how could a usc ceremony not be followed by the usc marching band introducing erin and adam at their reception? well it couldn’t and everyone got up to cheer as they entered playing with erin and adam following behind. erin and adam’s wedding was just as amazing as i expected it to be, with a team like they had i did not expect anything else. we feel so lucky that we were able to be apart of this wonderful celebration and yes, i had to sit down for the elevator ride back down as well ;).

our first wedding of ‘09. the weather was amazing, our couple allowed us to try some of the crazy photo ideas we have stored up :), and we got to shoot at some locations we had never been before! natalie and jeremiah had their ceremony at the westminster presbyterian church in pasadena, followed by an amazing reception at the westin pasadena. the westin is located right near city hall, which was the perfect backdrop for family photos! after the ceremony, natalie and jeremiah went up to their suite to relax for a little while. we had wanted to try an idea out for a really long time so this was the perfect opportunity. we asked natalie to lay in the bathtub (no wedding dress was harmed in the making of this image), and jeremiah grabbed a mirror. eric somehow wedged himself on top of the sink to take the shot but yay! we got it and we love it :). once cocktail hour was over, the wedding party entered the ballroom. it was lit with blue lights, the centerpieces were stunning, the cake glistened in it’s spotlight. the crowd laughed and danced all night long! the perfect way to start our ‘09 season.
