i have known the bledin family for a very long time. anthony was one of my dad’s best friends, cheryl one of my mom’s, jessica and i were the same age, lara was just a little bit younger than my brother. we spent many holidays and friday nights over at their house. when jessica went to standford, i drove down from santa cruz to visit. when eric and i got married, the bledin’s were there, when jessica and david got married, we were all together to celebrate once again. it’s been truly wonderful having the bledin’s as friends for so many years. when jessica asked me to take family photos after new year’s i was so excited. i absolutely love how fun these portraits came out! i didn’t expect anything less from such a gorgeous family, and wonderful friends!

i love living so close to malibu. it’s just a short fifteen minute drive through the canyon to get to the beautiful beaches! when the farrugia family suggested malibu for their family session, i knew exactly where i wanted to shoot! i truly love family sessions. as much as i love little kids and their priceless expressions, i really enjoy shooting families with older kids. we always hear at weddings parents complaining that they have no nice photos with their children from a certain age onward and family sessions are the perfect way to take some wonderful, relaxed portraits with your kids at any age!

we drove to texas this year, 2600 miles round trip. my car survived and we only had one little mishap. we somehow ended up with no gas and the closest station another 50 miles away. we drove into a rest stop and found the attendant who by some miracle had a 2 gallon gas can. he drove to the station for us, got us 2 gallons and came back. it cost us $20 and an hour wasted. it was quite an experience but we had a wonderful time celebrating thanksgiving with our family and next year will be flying. eric has two amazing sister’s, jennifer and debbi and we were able to do a fun, quick family session with both of them. jennifer has a beautiful family consisting of her hubby lennie, our nephew joshua and our niece baby avery. we are already planning our next trip, we miss them all so much already!!
