i am so excited to be working with the maxson family again! in 2008 we photographed the wedding of kelly’s brother shaun and i am so thrilled to now be shooting kelly’s wedding coming up in january. we met up with kelly and her fiance phelan at the griffith observatory (one of my favorite locations); it combines nature, architecture, awesome views. kelly and phelan are an amazing couple, they are a gorgeous, happy, sweet, funny and it was so nice seeing them interact while we shot this session. we can’t wait for their wedding which will kick off our 2010 season! :).

photographing weddings is an amazing job. we get to be around people in love, and at their very best. it’s a wonderful, intimate occasion filled with so many moments that we get to capture; smiles, tears, laughs, hugs, and kisses. we get to know our couples so well and at their weddings they feel like old friends to us (so much that i cry during almost every ceremony). now i am getting the chance to actually shoot the wedding of a dear, dear friend of mine and it’s that much more special. being a guest is sometimes fun, but i spend most of time watching closely at every moment and making sure the photographer is there snapping away! i am so thrilled charlene decided she couldn’t have anyone else capture those moments but us (i hope she doesn’t eat those words when she sees i put the image of andy on her shoulders below). we go above and beyond for every client but knowing your client that much more makes every one of the photos i take extra special.
anyways, to make a long story short, i proudly present the engagement session of the gorgeous, fantastic couple that is charlene and andy. dear friends and amazing people! i cannot wait for their wedding coming up in october at the lake sherwood country club. i hope everyone enjoys these for now because i have a very strong feeling that their wedding is going to be a monstrous blog post!!

we knew it would be a good one. a guitar has that kind of power. those luscious strings serenaded us into shooting some fun photos. and nothing says “fun” the way a pair of bikes do. so when michelle and kevin arrived for their engagement session at the pike in long beach with props in hand, we were sure that this engagement session would rank a 10 on the fun scale. how right we were!
i love the use of props during photo shoots, especially when they correlate with the couple’s personality and relationship. kevin is a musician and he utilized his guitar throughout the session the same way he would on a date with michelle. no wonder she said “yes!” who can deny a man with a guitar? kevin played us some music while michelle sat and smiled. they rode their bikes, laughed, danced and kissed. if that doesn’t sound like a picture perfect date right out of a movie, i don’t know what does! we had a wonderful time wandering around the pike with the happy couple and cannot wait for their wedding in september! michelle and kevin’s engagement session was so playfully romantic, it’s certain that their big day will be full of music and joy.
