photographing weddings is an amazing job. we get to be around people in love, and at their very best. it’s a wonderful, intimate occasion filled with so many moments that we get to capture; smiles, tears, laughs, hugs, and kisses. we get to know our couples so well and at their weddings they feel like old friends to us (so much that i cry during almost every ceremony). now i am getting the chance to actually shoot the wedding of a dear, dear friend of mine and it’s that much more special. being a guest is sometimes fun, but i spend most of time watching closely at every moment and making sure the photographer is there snapping away! i am so thrilled charlene decided she couldn’t have anyone else capture those moments but us (i hope she doesn’t eat those words when she sees i put the image of andy on her shoulders below). we go above and beyond for every client but knowing your client that much more makes every one of the photos i take extra special.
anyways, to make a long story short, i proudly present the engagement session of the gorgeous, fantastic couple that is charlene and andy. dear friends and amazing people! i cannot wait for their wedding coming up in october at the lake sherwood country club. i hope everyone enjoys these for now because i have a very strong feeling that their wedding is going to be a monstrous blog post!!

hiroko and michael were married at the stunning altadena town and country club. the sun was shining and it was very hot, but hiroko provided hand fans and water bottles for guests during the outdoor ceremony to keep everyone cool. michael and hiroko both read such touching vows that i teared up more than once. it’s so clear that these two love each other wholly and strongly, so even though i get to see lots of ceremonies and hear different vows almost every weekend, words like the ones they shared with their families and friends keep my job fresh and sentimental.
the reception room had huge windows which let the beautiful summer light pour in and drench the guests with warmth and cheer. guests enjoyed dinner and dancing, an awesome slideshow that michael made, and a beautiful cherry blossom themed wedding cake to honor hiroko’s japanese heritage. we loved seeing one of our favorite couples from 2008, alison and bryan (thank you for referring us)!
hiroko and michael, we loved being a part of your amazing wedding day! we hope you enjoyed your maui adventure and had the best honeymoon!

candace and skyler aka the lovies had a beautiful wedding at one of our favorites venues, spanish hills country club. they incorporated touches of mario brothers with the most creative wedding cake i have ever seen, mario yellow star cufflinks and a special mario venus flytrap birthday cake for candace’s aunt! candace and skyler are always laughing, their friends are a riot! the bridal party could not stop laughing and when fred came out to give his speech with a whole notepad we knew we were in for one long but fantastic toast! these two are just the perfect pair, they compliment each other so well, have so much love for one another and are surrounded by amazing family and friends. candace and skyler, thank you for having us be a part of your wedding day, we had an amazing time!
